Attitude

This writing does not sound anything like Garrison Keillor, in my opinion. This read was kind of boring and i didn't enjoy it very much. I don't think even Keillor has this attitude about the sport. I think his real attitude is less drastic and he just added this kind of tone for humor. I don't blame him for it. When I write stories that are supposed to be in my voice, it is actually exaggerated. It's like that in all writings. If you wrote in true voice it would probably be really boring.
I think that this essay is interesting to all people, but it is probably more interesting to people that enjoy slow pitch. Personally i don't think slow pitch is that cool. Kind of boring.

Advice to Youth

I think twain is this essay feels that the youth need direction and they do not know how to live life right. Then he gives the worst advice ever. He uses very sarcastic types of speech and soon the whole writing just sounds ridiculous and hilarious.

Doris Lessing

"Writing is probably like a scientist thinking about some scientific problem, or an engineer about an engineering problem."

~ Doris Lessing
I think this quote is kind of on the right page but it is still not right. A true writer never looks at a writing assignment and says "How can i solve this problem?" a true writer would want to create something new and interesting. So yes they are somewhat like a scientist, but not a scientist that solves problems. A scientist that invents.

Bob-A Name Spurned By History

The man in this essay likes to complain. In the story he relegates the name bob while redundantly using the name. I think he is just looking for a laugh when he says "Bob is a dumb name." He probably thinks it is awkward and isn't a big fan of his name, but when isn't there a time when somebody questions their name.
I think that when Greene was substituting the name, he was trying to show that the name would lose it's luster. I don't think the name itself of these famous people is what is cool about them. If these people were always named Bob, they would be just as famous. And what about Bob Dylan? That guy is the man! One of the greatest musicians to ever walk the earth, his name was Bob.
I think this essay altogether wasn't that great. I don't really like humorous essays.

long and fairly boring google video

The video on google video titled "Did You Know?" is kind of boring. I never really got the concept. This apathetic video was not in the slightest diverse and its gratuitous animations were completely futile. The video was incessant with it's facts, but facts were a bit disdainful. Information such as "every 8 seconds 34 babies will be born globally" and "the average man will have 10 to 14 jobs by their 38th birthday". Then it starts talking about computers and technology saying things like "the average 21 year has spent 10,000 hours on the phone". It all seems to be working towards some lesson or something to learn from it. But i felt the movie was stopped short and i just didnt get what it was trying to say. This enigma of a video has made me feel either too good for it, or too stupid. I really cant tell. I think it was trying to say that technology is growing quickly and we need to prepare for it. But it could be something way different. Maybe im dumb and it just all went over my head...doubt it though.
